It's my birthday week, and this Saturday will commemorate the 8th consecutive year of Ghost of Pop--as well as falling on the 32nd anniversary of John Lennon's death. Prabir Mehta organizes the event, and this year it will benefit HomeAgain, an organization that provides services to those who have fallen on bad times.

Clancy Fraher returns to Richmond with his band The Technical Jed. For those entrenched in Richmond music history, you might remember the Technical Jed was the indie rock band before indie rock, from right here in Richmond in the early nineties.

It's that time of year when Christmas tunes are everywhere, and Thanksgiving hasn't even hit yet. Many of us have thankfully avoided "The Thanksgiving Song" while remaining optimistic for a Peanuts Thanksgiving. As for Thanksgiving around Richmond, you might just see Chris Brown show up at the Municipal Waste show at Kingdom on Friday. Be thankful for local music this holiday and see some live bands!

One of the best bands in Richmond, which you should definitely check out, is Snowy Owls. This melodic sounding band with an emphasis on the driving guitar is performing in connection with the release of their new EP.

The week of our two-year anniversary has come! We are celebrating big time over at Sounds of RVA headquarters. The Hotdamns are putting finishing touches on their set. The band members took some time over the weekend to answer a few questions.

The Horn RVA Presents Vol. 2 highlights seventeen Richmond groups from a diverse sampling of local releases, b-sides, and exclusive recordings.
