A few weeks ago, on Thursday March 24, Malice, one half of the Virginia-based hip-hop duo The Clipse, visited The Pizza Shop (actually not a restaurant at all, but a skate shop--click here for details), located at 9 E. Bank St. in Petersburg, in order to present the public with his brand new book, Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked. RVA staffers John Reinhold and Todd Raviotta were on hand. Todd explains the situation from his perspective:
John Reinhold and I went to Petersburg to go to the Pizza Shop, and I thought we were going to a restaurant opening. When we found our way to the parking lot, he said, "Oh, by the way, this is a skate shop." I said, "So we are not getting pizza?" He explained that Malice would be stopping in to do a book signing, and it all started to make sense. In the shop, there was a fantastic scene of locals, Richmonders, VSU students and young media persons from the East Coast.
Check out some photos Todd shot of the event after the jump. But first, a little bit about Malice's book from the author himself:
I don't really know what to say about the book with the exception that the phenomenal chain of events occured just as I say they have. I was trying to be a rapper, not an author. Never would I have ever imagined that I would have to share a story so personal and of such magnitude with the entire world. Wretched... tells of my highest highs and my lowest lows. It speaks of my childhood, family life, and life in the industry. Most importantly this book tells how my life was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. Truly, last night what I seen made my life change.
