This summer, the loose-knit crew of musicians and psychedelic explorers who have previously brought you Jeeb Sound and Caves Caverns, among many other projects, are taking to Richmond's cable airwaves to present 86 Reality, a public access cable television show that begins on Wednesday, June 22. The show will run every Wednesday at 9 PM on Comcast Channel 95 and Verizon FIOS Channel 36 until the end of July, for a total of six episodes. These episodes will be uploaded to the show's Vimeo channel soon after airing, so if you can't catch the show live, you should still be able to see all of the episodes.

86 Reality will feature live and pre-taped performances by artists and musicians, as well as short films, interviews, and "general weird shit." The makers of the show are interested in submissions as well. Co-producer Michael Raftery says, "The idea here is to show something of everything--not just shit we think is cool, shit that is actually happening." They're interested in receiving any sort of submissions the Richmond music and art community might have to offer. "Video quality's not an issue," Raftery adds. "Weirdness is not an issue." Submissions must be received by June 10, and can be emailed to 86reality@gmail.com. If what you have to contribute is not available in a digital format, alternate arrangements can be made by email. "Get in touch, and we'll figure out some way of making it happen," Raftery says. "Even if it's just you sending us a VHS or DVD in the mail, we can play it." These guys really want to represent a wide cross-section of what's happening in Richmond right now, so if you've got something to show them, they want to see it.

Everybody else, be sure to tune in, starting on June 22 at 9 PM. Comcast channel 95, Verizon FIOS channel 36. If nothing else, it's guaranteed to be interesting.
