The Richmond Illustrators Club Fourth Juried Show opens Friday June 3, 2011 at Ghostprint Gallery, from 7-10 pm, as part of the First Friday Artwalk! There will be a preview opening Thursday, June 2 from 6-8 pm.

The Richmond Illustrators Club Juried Shows are locally organized events that draw international attention, while reminding Richmond of its own remarkable presence in the illustration world. The club aims to create a bridge between the disparate network of incredible illustrators nationwide and the rich, ever-growing illustration community locally. With the establishment of The Art Department RVA Pod, the continued strength of the VCU Communication Arts Department and a thriving gallery scene, Richmond is an inspirational place for illustrators and artists of all stripes. With hundreds of entries from across the country and even internationally to consider, the jurors narrowed it down to their 40 favorites, spanning many different themes, mediums, and genres. Their selections represent the varied uses of illustration today, and the show overall aims to showcase the broad relevance of illustration, in addition to different modes of visual narrative and communication.
