“Maximum Capacity,” the 2011 Maggie Walker Senior Art Show, will be at Art Works Gallery (320 Hull Street Richmond, VA 23224) with the opening on June 10 from 7-9 PM.

This show is the culmination of four years of work by the Art 4 & 5 classes. On view will be painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, computer graphics and more. With themes ranging from dreams to fashion, and with styles from eccentric to classical, there is subject matter for everyone to enjoy.

“It’s going to be a force of nature!” said Jeff Hall, the Art 4 & 5 teacher at Maggie Walker who, along with teacher Kori Mosley, has developed the students’ talents throughout their four years at the school. Like the seniors, Hall first came to Maggie Walker four years ago.

Fourteen seniors will exhibit their work at the show: Margaret Benson (Henrico), Mary Menchel (Henrico), Karthika Solai (Henrico), Jackie Tissiere (Henrico), Joy Whitehurst (Henrico), Claire Williams (Henrico), Henry Woodburn (Henrico), Reilly Henson (Hanover), Jennifer Hynson (Hanover), Mary Sader (King and Queen), Maddie Lowman (Richmond), Jack Miller (Richmond), Niccolo Seligmann (Richmond), and Sarah Small (Richmond).

The Visual Arts Boosters of Maggie Walker will be providing light refreshments at the show.
