It's been a few weeks since the last RVALUTION, but never fear, we're still here, and with the event switching to a monthly schedule, we're doing even more to pull out all the stops and make each night truly unforgettable! This week, we'll be cranking things up to 11 with Chicago dubstep powerhouse Midnight Conspiracy.
MIDNIGHT CONSPIRACY:

In the ever growing sea of electronic acts out there, it takes more than talent and desire to distinguish yourself from the rest. It takes a mustache, it takes a ninja, it takes a big giant laser eye that can travel through time, space, and the realms of hell. It's a good thing then that Midnight Conspiracy possess all three.

The group has come a long way in a very short amount of time. Yes, they hit #2 on Beatport’s dubstep chart, landed in the Hype Machine's Top 5 six times, had multiple tracks on BBC Radio 1, and toured non-stop — melting faces with their hard hitting, bass heavy sets in over 50 cities on two continents. They’ve added the likes of Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF) and North Coast Music Festival to their resume, and it doesn't end there. What truly sets Midnight Conspiracy apart from other groups is their extracurricular activities outside of traditional performing and producing. They run their own clothing line under their Dead Fame brand and collective. They can be seen wheat pasting Dead Fame street art around towns. And their current pet project involves a 16-ft tall LED and laser pyramid structure dubbed “Eye Live ▲ Laser Lightshow”. At the rate they’re going, it’s no wonder that all EYES are on Midnight Conspiracy.

Joining Midnight Conspiracy at this event will be Charlottesville's DJ XSV and PLF's own DJ Reinhold.
DJ XSV (born Rob Bedford) has been djing and producing for over 13 years. Inspired by Hip-Hop's early years, he absorbed the essence and energy of the heyday crews like Eric B. & Rakim, Ultramagnetic MCs, and Public Enemy; groups that prominently featured DJs in their ranks. After washing dishes in a restaurant for an entire summer, a 16-year-old XSV bought his first set of turntables and mixer. His first real gig came when he was 18 years old in Pensacola, FL., where he played for an empty room for no pay. What others would have thought of as a stumbling block, XSV only saw as an opportunity to improve and hone his skills. In San Diego, he found ample opportunities. Fraternities and sororities at San Diego State University started booking him for their parties and events. With more gigs came more exposure and recognition, until eventually, he became one of the most demanded DJs in the area. In 2005, all his efforts in the southern California area paid off when he had the pleasure of opening for Snoop Dogg and The Black Eyed Peas to a sold-out crowd at San Diego's Street Scene festival. Long gone were the days of playing for empty rooms.

Always looking for a chance to grow, DJ XSV moved to the east coast and eventually Charlottesville, VA. Although he has lived in Virginia for less than 5 years, XSV has already left his mark on Central Virginia by djing for local All-Star bands Space Cadet 7 and Guerilla Tactics. Since coming to Charlottesville, XSV has played up and down the east coast, opening for acts such as DJ Spooky, Guru, DJ Vadim, Bassnectar, Kid Koala, The Glitch Mob amongst many others. In this day of ever-evolving music, DJ XSV is always on the cutting edge and continuously looking for new ways to share his music.
