The line up for the 2013 Richmond Folk Festival has been announced for event scheduled Oct. 11-13th. Looks like it should be a great chance to discover local, national, and international talent, as well as explore your inner-world-beat fan.

From the Richmond Folk Festival website:

“As we embark on the ninth Folk Festival hosted in Richmond, we continue to be amazed how fully our community has embraced the festival,” said Lisa Sims, deputy director of Venture Richmond. “Richmonders have made their Folk Festival the largest of its kind in the country, and 1,500 volunteers pitch in year after year to make it a success.”
A diverse panel of local musicians, music writers and cultural enthusiasts, along with experts at the National Council for the Traditional Arts, assist Venture Richmond in assembling an impressive mix of musical performances.

“We sometimes say that the artists we feature are “the best artists you’ve never heard of,” Sims said. “They might not be household names, but when they leave our festival, they leave a mark here that Richmonders will never forget.”
