What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.
Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.
So HAPPY 2017 all of my craft beer lovers!! Hope everyone is sticking to their New Years resolutions and by that I mean drinking a ridiculous amount of beer. We have all the new beer releases, event and other cool craft beer happenings around town this week, so hold on to your mugs because we're getting ready to tap this thing!
Isley will help you cure that Saturday hangover with a brunch with Mean Bird this Sunday. The brunch will feature chicken, biscuits, Isley's craft beers and beermosas! Brunch will be served from 10am-3pm.
Triple Crossing is dedicating an entire day this Saturday to their most popular IPA: Falcon Smash. Falcon Day will commence at their new Fulton location at 12 pm with the release of Double Falcon DIPA in cans for the first time ever, a brand new session version of Falcon called (of course) Baby Falcon and a fresh batch of Falcon Smash in cans. Baby Falcon on draft at both locations, available in crowlers at Foushee. Cans of Falcon and Double Falcon available at Fulton.
Reminder that Ardent Craft Ales is hosting a beer dinner with Heritage Monday, Jan. 16 to benefit Diversity Richmond. 6-8:30pm, five courses with five beers. $75/person.
Center of the Universe will release two beers this Friday to warm you up and lift your spirits that were brought down by Snowmageddon 2017. The Ashland brewery will release Pleather Couch, a brown ale and IV, a Wine Barrel Aged Belgian Quad.
Warm up at Final Gravity Brewing Co. with their four crowlers, Fire Station 5, Irish Goodbye, Venus Rising, and the Doppler Effect, available now!
Lickinghole Creek has an awesome release and fundraiser for you this weekend. On Saturday, the Goochland brewery will release Nasty Woman, an 11.3% Tequila Barrel Tripel Ale. The brewery is donating a portion of their sales to help out local Goochland business owner, Michelle Wright, who recently opened the Blonde Butcher Baker.
Blue Bee Cider will release their new cider, Hierophant, this Saturday. This dry ice-style cider is fermented from Winesap and Gold Rush concentrates -- a tart and tannic cousin to their dessert ciders.
Garden Grove Brewing Company has just welcomed back the cult favorite "Drunken Barista" coffee stout featuring plenty of roasty Rostov's coffee notes thanks to ample additions of Organic Peru, Bourbon Santos, & Jeremy’s Blend roasts.
The brewery is also releasing a new brew for Thursday Night's Live Comedy Show, "Procrastination Station" a Belgian Gold brewed to be crisp and quaff-able highlighting the noble hop character of French Strisselspalt hops.
