Weezer to headline XL102's BFD 2017 with PVRIS, Bob Moses, more when it returns to RIR this May

The sweater-clad fathers of modern indie are coming to Richmond as part of XL102's Big Field Day event this year.

Perhaps it was "Buddy Holly" when you first fell in love with Weezer, or maybe "Pink Triangle?" Maybe "Hash Pipe" if you're a bit younger, but either way, Rivers Cuomo and friends are headed to RVA Saturday, May 13.

Check out more details via an RIR Press release:

BFD is a regional music festival that brings the best in alternative rock to Richmond. In addition to Weezer, BFD performers this year include PVRIS, Bob Moses, Dreamers and making their Richmond debut, Skratch ‘N Sniff. Music fans are invited to spend the evening at the Richmond Raceway Complex to enjoy great food, beverages, and music.

“We welcome iHeart Media Richmond’s XL102 and BFD to The Classic Amphitheater for our 25th Anniversary Celebration,” said Richmond’s President Dennis Bickmeier. “As part of our partnership with AEG Live, Weezer will take the stage to add their band to the legendary list of names who have performed at The Classic Amphitheater.”

Weezer is an iconic American rock band formed in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1992. The band consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals). Weezer has sold over 9.2 million albums in the U.S., and over 17 million records worldwide.
