What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

So 2017 started off pretty crazy and it seems it's just getting crazier by the day, but one thing you can count on is RVA Mag will always have the scoop on where you can go to get the finest craft beer in town! This week we have new beer releases, events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we're getting ready to tap this thing!

So the biggest news we have going on is RVA Mag's Beer Madness 2017!!! March Madness just kicked off and college basketball brackets will be shatteres beyond recognition before you know it, but we like to have soem fun here at RVA Mag. So, every year, we put together a bracket of all the RVA brew spots and have them go head to head in a matchup with you, the reader, voting on the best ones!

This link will also take you to the poll to cast your vote. The winner will be announced April 3rd before the NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

Garden Grove Brewing Company will host a beer dinner on Monday, March 20 featuring Pitmaster & Chef Tuffy Stone of Q Barbaque. Five courses with five GG beers. $39 plus tax & tip, Reservations Required.

The brewery will release The Bee & The Vine, the newest in their sparkler series, this Saturday. It is a sparkling honey wine made with local VA honey, VA Vidal Blance grapes and lemongrass and fermented in red wine barrels. Also on tap will be Southern Hemi IPA.

Hardywood will host a benefit for Re-Establish Richmond this Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Attendees can shop from local fair trade and eco-friendly businesses with 15 percent of proceeds going to the organization which works with local refugees.

This Saturday, Ardent Craft Ales will release their Defenestrator, a malty doppelbock collaboration with The Cask Café.

Tonight (Wednesday) you can learn how to brew at Lakeside’s Final Gravity from 7:30-8:30 pm. The pros will give you the tips, tools and the basics to get you started homebrewing!

Steam Bell Beer Works will host their 1st annual RVA Brews & Blues Fest next Saturday, March 25th. The event that will kick off around 12PM with live music, food from Intergalactic Tacos and Eastern Star, and of course, beer. Seven bands all encompassing some form of the Blues genre will perform. The Chesterfield brewery will also release a small batch beer, Old Salt Gose. Tickets are $30, get more info and purchase yours here.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day the right way with limited edition Irish brews and Irish faire at both Origin Beer Lab and Center of the Universe Brewing! Friday, March 17th from 4pm-10pm the two Ashland sister breweries will host Leprecrawl 2017.

THe Veil will host its third Thursday celebration on the 16th, this time with the release of "Mixed Greenz", an IPA, to benefit Richmond Metropolitan Habitat For Humanity. From 5pm-8pm 15% of sales will go toward the nonprofit housing organization which is committed to break the cycle of poverty by providing affordable homes to people in the Greater Richmond area.
