Joe Lally made a stop in Richmond this week with Ricardo Lagomasino and Nick Millevoi backing him up.
His recordings are sparse and bass-driven; live, his songs receive different textures and colors depending on the touring members. For European dates Joe often has members of Italian jazz/punk/improv band ZU. However, in the US he has toured with members of the Melvins, Big Business, Capillary Action, Antelope, and Human Bell.
Other than Fugazi... Joe has been a member of the post-hardcore band Decahedron with Frodus members Shelby Cinca & Jason Hamacher, and the experimental rock band Ataxia with John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
