Michael Jackson Dies
Posted Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM by TMZ Staff
We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.
Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.
We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.
La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.
Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
I remember getting the VHS of Thriller and watching it like 8 times in a row. My childhood friend and I then going outside with some cardboard, laying it on the sidewalk and dancing on it for hours with the radio blasting.

—Posted by: nicky on June 26, 2009 - 4:12amI didn't think it would effect me like it has. His impact on the world and especially the music business is so immense its hard to understand. The the first song I played on my new set of tables when I was learning to Dj was "Off the Wall". I have so many remixes of MJ's tunes its ridiculous. His music will always stand the test of time. I have had so many great moments dancing with past girlfriends durning special moments in my life to Michael's music.
—Posted by: john on June 26, 2009 - 9:59amAs of the time of this comment, MJ has 12 of the 25 most downloaded songs on Itunes. HIS MUSIC is why we loved him to begin with. I don't want to see/read reports about plastic surgery or illeged molestation. I want to remember the way it makes me feel.
—Posted by: admo on June 26, 2009 - 10:41amThe making of Thriller, the mini movie Bad, Moonwalker w/Smooth Criminal, Leave Me Alone, and his other videos are part of the lit up sidewalk I walk on towards movie and video making. His vision for the pop product will be missed and still last as inspiration. With his death his personal battles need to be cautionary warnings, to any artist in pursuit of celebrity, not fodder for bashing, or worse selling airtime to advertisers who will pick his legacy clean to profit to offset the debt he was in or just cash in.
