I doubt anyone who reads RVA needs to have the musical sensation that was Queen explained to them. Like it or not, I don't think anyone can coherently argue against Queen's impact as a band, social movement, or their potency in live performance. Live Aid, however, may not be so widely known. It was a concert held simultaneously in London and Philadelphia, the point of which was to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Organized by Irish folk singer and activist Bob Geldof and Scottish musician Midge Ure, Live Aid had around 400 million viewers on television in sixty nations worldwide. Here, Queen is seen kicking ass in London.
