Muslims in the Military: Why not talk to one?

There's been a ton of talk about Muslims in our military in the last few weeks, largely in the wake of the Ft. Hood Massacre. In my viewing, I've seen very some military personnel in the spotlight, fewer Muslims, and no Muslims who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Who the hell else should we be talking to? The rhetoric I'm hearing is that we need to analyze the safety of having Muslims in our armed services, which seems ludicrous. Why don't we act this way whenever a christian commits a heinous crime? The discussion I am hearing has no reference to anyone who actually understands the issue. That is, of course, until Al Jazeera enters the picture.
