Our former intern and good friend Baylen Forcier has been living in Kyrgyzstan doing documentary work on Central Asia, and as most people don't know or simply don't care, the shit has hit the fan there. Baylen sent us this account of the day of the revolution, the article also includes a good bit of history leading up to that fateful day.
More recently, Baylen has footage of the aftermath. There is an eerie silence across the capital city of Bishkek as Baylen takes footage of burned-out tanks, protesters, anti-protesters, wrecked government buildings (The Kyrgyz White House, General Prosecutor's office), anti-semitic and anti-government graffiti, and more.
