They Might Be Giants is a band from Brooklyn, New York that was founded twenty somethin’ years back by John Linnell and John Flansburgh, and are often joined on stage and on recordings by Dan Miller, Danny Wienkauf, Marty Beller, Dan Levine and Curt Ramm. We recently won the 2009 Grammy for Best Children’s Album (Music) for a kids project called “Here Come the 123s.” TMBG perform frequently, make videos and podcasts, and do a fair amount of television work.
The band is just about to release a full length album and an animated DVD called “Here Comes Science.” You can pre-order it on Amazon, and on iTunes. The DVD features original animations by over a dozen original artists, and is really a glorious creative thing.
This fall TMBG will be on the road doing a wide variety of shows across the entire United States. Family shows, special performances of the platinum album Flood in its entirety, and a new show of unknown proportions will all be wheeled out. In the midst of the tour, They Might Be Giants will have a new children’s picture book entitled “Kids Go!” illustrated by Pascal Campion. That project also includes a DVD of the song.
In 2007 TMBG released the album The Else. The album was produced by The Dust Bros, NYC superstar Pat Dillett, and us. You can check it out at iTunes or you can get the beautiful CD with artwork by Marcel Dzama by ordering it at Amazon. It is also available on 12″ VINYL in a super-deluxe gatefold sleeve.
