Brooks Smith and Wayne Dementi draw upon their new book Songlines of Richmond (2009) to pay homage to Richmond’s performing arts, artists and stages through the centuries, from the first fine arts academy in America to the jazz greats of Jackson Ward. Some still resonate today, while others are shadows of the past. Reservations are required: (804) 649-0711 x 301. Meet at the History Center. Tickets are $23 ($20 for History Center members). Cost includes parking in History Center lot and admission to the museum on the day of the tour.
