The Folly premieres new video 'Hold You Down'

If you missed RVA folk rock band The Folly's music video release party over the weekend, don't fret, because RVA Mag has got it for you right here.

"Hold You Down" is a sax-heavy, jazzy tune off their debut self-titled record, released back in September.

Directed by local videographer Devin Bousquet, the video was shot in a studio in one day in Richmond's Manchester district in November.

"He kind of had this idea a basic simple black screen, a lot of shadowing and us playing our instruments and singing the song," said vocalist/guitarist Jordan Lette.

Vocalist Anneliese Grant (who has some killer pipes by the way,) said Bousquet took creative control over the video but came to them for the overall look and feel.

"It kind of starts with everyone being featured and gradually we each filmed the entire song separately and then as you watch the video there's these frames of everyone in the band that are going down and further and further down, kind of this subconscious messaging as you're watching it," she said.

Catch The Folly at their new residency every third Thursday at Cary St. Cafe starting Jan. 19.
