King of Pops hopes to mural-ize his “factory” with crowdfunded support

“We want to add art to the outside of the building but we also want to preserve what came before us,” said Richmond King of Pops owner Paul Cassimus about the new kickstarter project they’ve started to fund a new mural for their pop-factory.

“We want to add art to the outside of the building but we also want to preserve what came before us,” said Richmond King of Pops owner Paul Cassimus about the new kickstarter project they’ve started to fund a new mural for their pop-factory.

Massimus hopes to turn his building into a piece of art, with the help of local muralist Hamilton Glass.

The mural will actually be painted on panels before being fixed to the building –
“The building is old but very well maintained with beautiful brick,” he explained. “We don’t want to paint on this building so we came up with a solution to paint on panels and to incorporate the brick itself as a sort of canvas.”

As this is a kickstarter, premiums for donations are available – $10 gets you a free pop and a shout out, $25 gets you 6 pops, and $50 gets you a dozen pops and a shirt.

You can learn more about what Cassimus hopes to achieve, and learn some about how these awesome pops are made, in the video below – head on over to the kickstarter here to donate funds.
