M.A.S.S. Fx a.k.a. Perri Young / Nightlife VA
Born – 6/01/1985 – Richmond, Virginia
Current location – Richmond, Vriginia
Genre – House/Electro/Dubstep/top 40’s House mixs
Perri returns to RVALUTION again… he was a constant last year helping shape the night along with Reinhold & Doddie. As a young boy M.A.S.S. Fx realized not only his interest, but his ear for good music. Soon he became fascinated with the intricate and almost other worldly sound of electronic music. He was drawn to artist such as DaftPunk, Felix Da House Cat, and Paul Oakenfold for there unique and truly original sound. Starting with nothing more than a desktop computer and Fl studio, he began experimenting on his own. Eventually he landed his first gig as a dj in a local hookah bar called Sahara. Years later after being in the workforce for sometime he landed his second gig at a popular night club and lounge The Lucky Buddha. In a very short period of time his talent was apparent. Other night clubs and promoters were booking him at local spots all over Richmond. Within 3 months of his second gig he was booked at The Tobacco Company Club, one the oldest and most popular clubs in the city. M.A.S.S. Fx began defining his sound as a house dj and perfecting his skills with hours of practice and research of other djs, genre’s, and techniques. Shortly after his appearance at The Tobacco Company, he was recruited by the members of Richmond Fashion Week to headline the Monumental fashion at one of biggest venues in the city, The Hat factory. M.A.S.S. Fx was quickly becoming a recognizable name by most of richmonds nightlife. He would go on play at popular clubs such as The Bank and Vault, Delux Lounge, Europa Lounge, The Hat Factory’s instanly popular RVAlution, and recently made his first out of state debut in Raleigh, NC for Revolution Raleigh. He hope to very soon be traveling coast to coast and then country to country following the path of a internationally know dj/producer.

DJ BEATDOWN / PLF
Beatdown is PLF’s resident Baltimore Dj, brining his hard hitting style back to RVALUTION! There are many reasons to love listening to a set from Dale (Dj Beatdown), you know… there is just something that is so right about a Dj from Baltimore Maryland playing music that makes people move their asses. And you will find Beatdown hitting that heavy electro, yes he throws the Baltimore club down for sure, but you will find tasty treats from every style that is hard hitting and in your face.

Did I mentioned BASS?? Beatdown does not relent on you, he does not care about your poor soul and tiny ear drums. This is Dj Beatdown bitches, so you get what you deserve. Turn the bass up and don’t cry….

Message from Beatdown:
Just a little tidbit about myself here. I began my journey in music about 9 years ago, when I got my first bass guitar. After that I began singing and playing guitar and percussion instruments, was in a few rock bands here and there. 5 years ago I began DJing and became Beatdown. To me, Beatdown is a persona of loud intense party music at the peak hour of a party. I live in Baltimore Maryland, which as been very conducive to this persona. I like hard pumping Electro and Fidget house, and in your face Baltimore club music. You can check me out as a resident DJ for the Party Liberation Front in

RVA or you can hit me up anytime on myspace.com/thedjbeatdown .

DJ LONG / AUDIO AMMO
We are really stoked to have Dj Long return to RVALUTION! As one of the founders of Richmond DJ crew, Audio Ammo, Long has been active in Richmond’s DJ and club scene for over 7 years. After spending the majority of his time DJing house parties, he eventually started his own night at the former Nara Sushi. The night was respectively called “GNARA” and since he has evolved from a 100 capacity restaurant to a full on 1500 capacity event, namely BRAIN DRAIN & AUDIO AMMO Events.

With a solid performance resume, Long has now entered the production world with heavy force out of the gate. His EP “Vibrate x Chick” (with Billy the Gent and JWLS) has been given the stamp of approval by Moombahton godfather, Dave Nada. The A-side, “Vibrate”, was also unleashed at the recent Starscape to a crowd of thousands, with an overwhelming response. The EP includes support by: Dave Nada, Munchi, Willy Joy, Klever, Tittsworth, Stretch Armstrong

R. Anthony Harris

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
