Yes, it’s apparently true–not only did the city score highest in an online poll of Outside Magazine’s readers, the writer they sent to check the place out aftwards was firmly convinced of this city’s greatness. “What I want to tell you is that the city’s residents are absolutely justified in their zealotry,” wrote Outside’s correspondent, Jon Billman, after a local visit. Praising the city for everything from our excellent beer and local Fortune 500 companies to what Outside’s readers really care about–our range of available river-based activities–Billman found a lot to like about Richmond in 2012. And we personally find a lot to like about the quality of life here in RVA, and the civic pride the residents of the metropolitan area feel about it, that this recognition from Outside Magazine indicates. It’s yet another reason to ask why anyone would want to live anywhere else.
