Teleport Team, “Rain Check”

Tidewater hip hop duo Teleport Team dropped this hard-partying video back in March and we’re just now getting around to it–weaksauce, I know, but let’s let bygones be bygones and just enjoy “Rain Check” now that it’s here. Director Mike Garcia treats us to an intriguing premise in which Teleport rappers Mikealis and Don Mimosa are riding around in the back of a U-Haul truck with about 20 other party people, showing up at multiple houses in the metropolitan area with an entire party in tow and proceeding to turn things out. Playing beer pong in the living room, swigging champagne from bottles, and giving the camera man the finger–probably because he keeps interrupting everybody in the bathroom–are what this video is all about. Meanwhile, “Rain Check” itself is all about how great Don Mimosa and Mikealis are at rapping, partying, and getting high. The video provides evidence for all of these claims, too, so I’m willing to give it to them.

“Rain Check” is apparently a preview for a couple of different Teleport Team-affiliated releases. Specifically, you should be able to find it on Don Mimosa’s upcoming solo release, EP For The Brainwashed, as well as the Teleport Team mixtape, Thunder In Paradise, which is in the planning stages right now and just might be coming from Slapdash, if I understood this post correctly. Regardless, there is new product from the Teleport Team crew available right now–specifically, Mikealis’s collaborative EP with Hollywood-based DJ/producer BVillain, Vacation. The six-song release dropped last month and is currently available on iTunes and Amazon, so go grab your copy! And keep an eye on what Teleport Team have going on by following them on Facebook and Tumblr.
