TONIGHT: Tina Marie and the Vinyle Tease w/ The Dream Machine

Last Wednesday at The Republic was an ambient introspective dreamy sort of night, as Radio Rubber Room presented Floodwall and The Dream Machine. When Floodwall took the stage, it was apparent that I was about to witness a very experimental project. One of the guitarists was soundchecking his guitar with a long bow, producing groaning amorphous whale noises. The set was interesting, perhaps hard to follow at times, but hey, that’s ambient rock for you. I think Floodwall fits the bill for a dark, candle lit room and many large joints, late at night. Check out Floodwall’s website for upcoming events and take the weird plunge into the ambient, if you think you can handle it, man.

Coming to The Republic this Wednesday, we have The Dream Machine and featured act Tina Marie & Vinyl Tease, who recently visited the guys at Radio Rubber Room. Vinyl Tease, brimming with talented musicians, offer a rich and soulful live show adorned with horns, organs and Tina Marie’s sultry vocals. It’s always compelling to see an artist who can play such a vast assortment of instruments; among those in her reportoire the piano, guitar, harmonica, mandolin and various percussive instruments. Check out Vinyl Tease’s radio episode for some good tunes and some good laughs, check them out on Bandcamp, and check them out for real this Wednesday night at The Republic! 10pm.
