RVA postpunk sensations Dead Fame just finished up a session with local producer/guitarist Pedro Aida (Fun Size/River City High), and we’ve got the premiere of one of their new tracks, “My Body, My Fool,” for you to check out. Listen to a stream of the track below:

Dead Fame haven’t announced any particular plans for this new material, but considering the quality of the recording and the excellence of the gloomy new wave grooves they’re dishing out here, we assume that fans will be clamoring for the entire session to be released ASAP. But if you’re not content to wait for that, the group plays their first RVA show since August this Saturday at Balliceaux, and we can only imagine that their set will include some choice new jams from their latest session. Also on the bill are Harrisonburg’s Mirror Kisses, from whom we can expect “crazy glam shenanigans,” according to Dead Fame singer Michael Means. Opening up the show will be DJ Mike Murphy of WRIR and the No Richmond dance party, who’ll be kicking off the evening with plenty of pre-apocalyptic postpunk jams to set the mood for the evening. So get decked out in your finest all-black outfit and come prepared to dance away those impending Mayan doomsday prophecy blues with some good old synth-infused postpunk.

WHAT: Dead Fame Returns To Balliceaux!
WHO: Dead Fame, Mirror Kisses, DJ Mike Murphy of No Richmond
WHERE: Balliceaux, 203 N. Lombardy St
WHEN: Saturday, December 8, 10 PM
ADMISSION: $5
