He calls it a pipe-dream, and he’s probably correct. But wouldn’t it be awesome to see this sucker come to life?

The conversation about his map drew connections to Richmond’s old trolley system, one of the first in the nation when it began operations in 1888. It was so successful, Boston created a similar system, and many other cities followed suit.
One reddit user brought up work being done by RVA Rapid Transit, which hopes to make the city’s current bus system a bit more helpful.
From RVART:
RVA Rapid Transit is a community organization composed of citizens of Metro Richmond dedicated to bringing efficient, modern mass transit to the greater Richmond region. We are currently working with our fellow citizens, policy makers and transportation planners to make RVA Rapid Transit a reality.
Who knows if any rapid transit system will make its way to our fair city–but it never hurts to dream of an easy, cheap ride between Church Hill and Short Pump.
