Video Fan has reached it’s Kickstarter funding goal!
As of press time, they amassed $35,225 with about 19 hours to spare.
The locally owned video rental spot had hoped to reach $35,200 by tomorrow and they’ve already passed the bar.
We spoke to the folks at VF a few weeks back to hear more about their plans if they succeeded, and they told us they hoped to turn the location into a kind of non-profit video library:
“The basic idea of the nonprofit,” Andrew Blossom explains, “is to start treating the collection not just as the stock of a video store but [as] the other thing that it is; which is a collection that has been amassed over almost 30 years… as a resource that should be protected not just for ourselves but for the entire community.”
The store houses everything from classic Western films to obscure Spanish horror movies, on both DVD and VHS.
