
Monique Drake & Brionna Nomi
Monique Drake was born and raised in North Central Richmond (3rd District). She is a parent of a 7yr old daughter who attends Barack Obama Elementary, is active in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and is an active community member and entrepreneur. Her daughter is her inspiration. She believes deeply in supporting everyone in her community to live their best life.
Brionna Nomi, PhD. is the Chair of Richmond for All, and co-chair of RFA's Public Education Committee. Brionna is a community organizer who taught in Richmond Public Schools for a decade before leaving due to administrative pressure and retaliation. Her research focuses on teacher professionalism and agency, both of which she sees challenged in today's public education landscape. Brionna lives in Richmond with her husband, Michael, and their son, Maverick, a future RPS student.
