RVA #27’s cover story is a look at the inventive work of artist Greg “Craola” Simkins after his recent showcase at the Virginia Museum Of Contemporary Art, brought to you by our creative director R. Anthony Harris.

Staff writer Shannon Clearly has all the details on Antiphons, the quirky new quartet turning heads in Richmond and across the nation as they gear up for the release of their first full length record on local label Citrus City Records.

Speaking of local labels, Laura Confer takes a look at Bad Grrrl Records, home to local bands such as Atta Girl, Veery, and The Wimps, and their focus on collaborative cassette releases that has expertly shed light on new pockets of the Richmond music scene.
