Best of RVA missed connection 4/18-4/25

by | Apr 25, 2017 | WTF?!

It might be shaping up to be a rainy, cold week but summer is just around the corner. Some people chose to up their fitness game as they anticipate beach season. Maybe that’s why there’s been some missed connections happening in gyms? Of course, there’s always the hope for romance in the sweaty, musky air, so read on for this week’s roundup.

Golds gym – w4m (colonial heights)
You recognized me after 6 or 7 years. I looked for you later and you weren’t there.

Reagan – w4m (Richmond)
I don’t think I’ll ever get over my crush on you. You’re so damn fine! And seem like my kind of weird. Caught you staring a couple times at the bar/club. Too bad you probably have a girlfriend, and never come out anymore.

downtown gym – m4m (downtown)
Trying this again – saw you again at gym, I had to leave a little early this week. We have similar builds, white guys, you work for construction, last week we checked each other out at gym shower and steam room, both got pretty worked up. We left gym at same time, saw you leaving in pickup truck. Would like to connect with you, maybe finish some of the fun we started.

I saw you in the crowd (Violent Femmes) – m4w (Richmond)
You: Blonde-ish hair and cute dress.
Me: White band shirt and beard.
We made eye contact multiple times while you danced throughout the night. Later your friend asked me if I was with someone because her friend, YOU, thought I was cute.
Well, at the time I was, but now I am not, and I’ve been beating myself up over not coming over to dance..
If you’re out there, let’s have a re-do!

Crunch Sunday Morning – m4m (Richmond – Scotts Addition)
We were both at Crunch on Sunday morning. You were wearing a blue tank and stretching with a foam roller when we first made eye contact. If you’re interested, let me know and include in your message either what I was doing or what I was wearing when you saw me so I know it’s you.

Seen at two yoga classes – m4m (Richmond)
We’ve seen each other at two yoga classes – one outdoors and one not – in the course of a week. Say what I was wearing and/or where the classes were.

White Guy-Spring 2010-Statistic Class at VCU – m4m
It was in Spring 2010 Semester at VCU, in a statistic class. You are a white guy, always sat with a girl near the front, and I always sat in the back near the door. However, each time when we get off classes. Your eyes stared at me like you said you wanted me. Although it has been seven years, but I still miss your staring at me.
I have a photographic memory so I still remember what you look like back then.
Please respond back with your picture, and tell me what race I am, and what were specials about our statistic teacher so I know it is you.

Richmond Airport – w4m (Flight to nyc)
This is a long shot but we were waiting for our flight to NYC today and we kept making eye contact. You were tall, about 6’2 around 30-35 years old. I felt so inclined to talk to you but all I could do was smile. When we landed in New York I almost said hi but I was too shy. People please never let anyone slip away like I did today. Never be afraid of rejection. You will end up like me posting on Craigslist trying to find this amazing man you can’t get out of your head.

Beautiful – m4w (Walmart)
We crossed paths a couple times. You were so beautiful. I should have stopped you when you said Hi.

What Happened Before the Video?

There are two sides to every story, but a lot of the time, the first narrative is the one that sticks. Case in point: last week, an altercation broke out during one of the weekly neighborhood rides organized by the Broad Street Bullies. The ride has happened every...

Editor’s Note: This story was produced in partnership with Virginia Transit Company (VITCO). There are few large-ish pieces of real estate in the city proper that have been more screaming for development than the fallow field bordered by Clay Street and Hermitage...

Can Ellwood Thompson’s Survive Its Owners?

What is Ellwood Thompson’s now? That feels like a fair question most people should be asking right now after this week’s news that the company that owns one of Richmond’s most recognizable stores is being taken over by another company whose primary business is data...

Be Kind, Rewind! Welcome to Monster Video

On a hot day in June, while visiting The Veiled Mirror and talking with them about collecting old books and DVDs, I was told that next door would be opening as a VHS video store soon. All throughout July, several of my friends who knew of my movie library habit...
