Best of RVA Missed Connections 3/14/17-3/21/17

by | Mar 21, 2017 | WTF?!

This past weekend was St. Patrick’s Day. Sure, many of us elected to spend a late night bar hopping while consuming all the Guinness and “green beer” we could. However, throughout the week, many Richmonders spotted people they hope to befriend or romance. Someone even waxed poetic about an encounter from this summer. Read on for this week’s round up of Missed Connections.

My sexy neighbor – m4w (23005)
Wish I could see you before you leave and tell you that the feelings are more than mutual. I don’t really see you a lot anymore and it saddens me that you are leaving. I know how you feel about me and yes I feel the same way about you. Really want to show you before you leave and I would like to give you something to remember me by. Don’t know if you even want to remember me but it’s worth a shot. You will probably never see this but just wanted to get it out there. You’re the fiery redhead behind me.

Woman with sign – m4w (Intersection of Broad and Glenside)
You had a black coat on with yellow pants with a sign asking for help. I’d like to befriend you and help you anyway I could. I see you all the time and would like to get to know you

The Girl with the Jack Sparrow Tattoo – m4w (VCU)
You were selling jewelry or sunglasses or something on campus last summer. I noticed your sparrow tattoo because Pirates of the Caribbean is my favourite movie. I took a picture of it because it’s really awesome.

I wanted to flirt with you or something and ask you out on a date but I was too nervous. Been regretting it for months. Anyway, if you see this you may or may not remember me since it was so long ago, but if you do remember, hit me up? Maybe?

Society Thursday Night – m4m (Downtown)
You’re the black guy with the hat that asked me if I was at Cha Cha’s earlier. Then you were posted up outside when the club closed, we fist bumped. Tell me what you said to me inside so I know it’s you. Would love to meet up sometime man, you’re cute.

eye connection at Cook Out – m4w (Chesterfield)
You were sitting diagonally across from me at Cook Out tonight around 6 pm. You’re short and so cute, and we kept making eye contact. For obvious reasons we couldn’t talk to each other, so I’m trying this in hopes that we could connect and perhaps have a conversation.

Cute Butt in Park – m4m
Me: Older guy on bike. I was with a friend.
You: Younger guy who made it a point to show off a cute, well-packaged butt.
Even if you were just teasing I wanted to let you know it was appreciated.
If interested email me details about our encounter.

Food lion cashier – m4w (Chester)
I usually see you at night when you ring me up at the register. We have seen each other a couple times this week. You have dark hair and a cute smile. I’m tall and usually still working. If you see this, email be back. I would like to talk!

Extraordinary beauty who kindly gave me directions to The Boulders – m4w (7 Eleven Cary)
You were kind and had an easy and natural beauty that I rarely see I don’t need any more directions, at the moment, but would love to continue talking. You can reference the tattoo I noticed on your wrist. I do hope to hear from you

Good Day RVA is Back and Bringing Friends Along

For four nights this weekend, bands from different generations of Richmond's music scene are taking over Get Tight Lounge. Called Tonal Recall, the series is part reunion show, part showcase and part excuse for a bunch of old friends to get back in the same room. ...

Fried Chicken and Soccer? Somehow It Makes Perfect Sense

"Richmond has your back... maybe."  That about sums it up, doesn't it? It's the slogan behind KCPFC, a new football-inspired project from Kwame Hayford, the guy behind Kwam's Chicken Project, and Richmond designer Ignatius Friend. The collection blends soccer culture...

Before Anyone Was Watching

I went to Virginia MOCA expecting to hear Andy Howell talk about skateboarding. Instead, I left thinking about community and how people find each other. Howell's installation opens Seamless, the museum's new exhibition exploring the overlap between art and design. At...

Duron Chavis is Building More Than a Farm

How two decades of community organizing grew into a vision for land ownership, education, and self-determination. The first time I met Duron Chavis, he wasn't talking about farmland. He was talking about culture. It was the early 2000s, and Happily Natural Day was...
