Going to the store each week to get groceries is stressful, I hate it. Luckily, Relay Foods came to our aid in July 2010 with their healthy only grocery store delivering all of hand-picked items to various locations around Richmond. All you had to do was drive and go get them.
Well now, they’ve taken it a step further and added a pick up spot at Legend Brewing so you can grab your groceries then head inside to the brewpub for a brew…or five.
Their pickup location will be at the corner of 7th and McDonough Street and Relay Foods has selected one of the best nights to head to Legends-Thursday. Their pickup times are 4 pm to 7 pm which is perfect because that’s during Legend’s happy hour.
Cheryssa Jensen, Relay Foods’ Press Coordinator for Relay Foods said they were looking for an accessible spot to serve the Mancester community-and what better place than the RVA’s oldest microbrewery?
“There aren’t many grocery options there, so we wanted to be able to offer people a convenient way to get quality, healthy food,” she said. “Legend Brewery is such a staple in the community that when we started tossing around the idea, everyone was excited and supportive.”
And while you can’t buy Legend beer from the online grocery delivery just yet, Jensen said that option isn’t too far off.
“Our whole beer & wine section is still pretty new, but we are entering into discussions with the appropriate people on both ends to see if it is possible,” she said.
