The Coalition Theater proudly presents the 8th Annual 2ND BEST FEST—a three-day comedy extravaganza showcasing the best in improv, sketch, and stand-up. Running June 5–7, this year’s festival brings high-caliber acts from LA, Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, Raleigh, DC, and RVA to four incredible venues in Richmond’s Downtown Arts District.

Celebrate the end of another successful fest at Gallery 5. Sketch duo Claire & Kim followed by Weeding Out The Stoned, the hit game show where a lineup of comics all claim to be sober, but only one is telling the truth. Hosted by Alex Grubard!

Weeding Out The Stoned is The Game Show of Sobriety Tests. Eight comedians begin the game. All but one of them are stoned. Eliminate the high players and find the sober “Narc” to win sweet prizes! Alex Grubard leads the investigation by seeking audience testimony, playing mind games and administering sobriety tests of the world’s premier comedians, influencers and other ne’er-do-wells.

Weeding Out The Stoned was created in 2015 by Alex Grubard at Good Good Comedy Theatre in Philadelphia. The show has gone onto be featured in The New York Comedy Festival, Borscht Belt Fest and Philly Comedy Festival. Time Out New York deemed it, “Best 4/20 Events in NYC,” Philadelphia Weekly says it’s “The Best of 4/20 2023 throughout the United States,” and director Kevin Smith says it’s, “a kick ass show.” Weeding Out The Stoned has also gotten high praise from BrooklynVegan: “Endearingly absurd” and CelebStoner: “The game show for potheads.”
