The 2nd Best Fest Friday reaches its exit velocity with improv from Chicago, New York, and Richmond!

The Coalition Theater is thrilled to present its 7th Annual 2ND BEST FEST, running June 6-8, featuring improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy acts from all over the US, crammed into 3 magical nights at 2 different venues!

The last day of the fest is the most insane with a double whammy of improv from New York’s Mommy, Chicago’s New Money A$$clowns, and Richmond’s own Fan Friction!

The Princeton New Money A$$clowns are an improv team based out of CIC Theater in Chicago. In their shows they take an interesting name from your life then build a detailed world and characters that revolve around them. It’s usually very weird and very fun.

Slacker alert! Fast-paced runs meet slow-burn callbacks with Mommy‘s take on a slacker. Come on out for Mommy. She misses you.
Mommy is an NYC-based group and performs every Wednesday as a house team at the Magnet Theater.

Also featuring Fan Friction, a fan fiction mash up show that takes your favorite movies, TV, books, and games and smashes them together into a hilarious abomination. Past favorites have included Stewart Little X Fight Club, Love is Blind X Fear Factor, and Blue’s Clues X Five Nights at Freddy’s. Come see the show our fans have called “stupid” and “I’m really surprised you made that work!”

Located in Richmond’s Downtown Arts District, the mission of the nonprofit Coalition Theater is to build an inclusive space where laughter connects people. Proceeds from 2ND BEST FEST help further this mission, supporting performances, comedic education, and community outreach.
