2nd Best Fest: Triple Threat Comedy & Street Jelly

A high-energy happy hour of improv! Featuring Richmond’s Street Jelly and Wilmington’s improv marvels, Triple Threat Comedy.

The Coalition Theater proudly presents the 8th Annual 2ND BEST FEST—a three-day comedy extravaganza showcasing the best in improv, sketch, and stand-up. Running June 5–7, this year’s festival brings high-caliber acts from LA, Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, Raleigh, DC, and RVA to four incredible venues in Richmond’s Downtown Arts District.

This one-hour showcase is stacked! First up, Coalition house team Street Jelly brings some of the best long-form improv RVA has to offer. Then Wilmington’s Triple Threat Comedy hits the stage with their distinctive long-form improv style!

Street Jelly

Born in the cereal aisle at Kroger, Street Jelly was birthed as one of Coalition Theater’s teams with the highest percentage of advertising majors. Enjoy exploring worlds and stories with grounded and emotional characters, as well as the occasional trip to large locations that could fit several small locations inside of it.

Triple Threat Comedy hails from Wilmington, North Carolina, and brings together players from all walks of life to laugh and spread joy wherever they go! Their speciality is to blend long form improv with spontaneous musical performances to create a hilarious broadway-style musical based on the audience’s suggestions.

Located in Richmond’s Downtown Arts District, the nonprofit Coalition Theater is dedicated to creating an inclusive space where laughter connects people. Through performances, classes, workshops, and community partnerships, we help individuals discover their comedic voice and provide a welcoming platform to share it.
