Richmond, VA – Southside ReLeaf, Seeds of Change Organization and the Swansboro West Civic Association are teaming up to celebrate Earth Day by hosting “The Great Big Cleanup and Community Cookout” on Saturday, April 22.

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for one of the 20 cleanup sites throughout South Richmond. As a thank you to volunteers and to connect with neighbors, we’re hosting a free, community cookout at the parklet across from the Love Center of Unity Full Gospel Church after the morning cleanup event.

This is part of a greater effort to beautify Southside Richmond and keep trash from polluting the James River, our main source of drinking water. With education and overall waste reduction, Richmond can move towards pollution prevention.
