Started as catchphrase among friends, the term YERB! has come to stand for Young Entertainers Righteously Being, and the group is set to embody their name now more than ever at a day long music festival on March 1st.

The folks over at The YERB! are offering an opportunity to get an early start on your festival circuit — with an affordable ticket to boot.

YERB! Fest 1 is going down at the Hidden Acres Campground up in Bowling Green, VA, and plenty of local RVA bands will be playing through the 12 hour event.

Among the performers will be The Southern Belles, The Northerners, Toxic Moxie and Gritty City Records. Event producer and YERB! Man Morgan Zito says they’re elated about their lineup.

“As the YERB! Collective, our goal has always been to expose people to a diverse range of musical styles from local, independently spirited artists. YERB! shows are put on for the people,” Zito said.

“We’re honestly just ecstatic that these fantastic bands have all agreed to come together for the people under the stars in the woods!”

If you’re into free craft beer, free food and an entire roasted pig, they’ve got you covered. The Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project will also be present, helping to provide free food as well as taking donations.

Rusty Beaver Brewery will be providing us with a few kegs. They are extremely supportive of Richmond music and have even named a beer after The Southern Belles song Big Bad Roy(‘s Big Bad Brown Ale),” Zito said.

If you want to just kick back, chill and enjoy the music? For that they have fire pits, a fishing pond and camp sites for the home bodies. And should you have more energy than you know what to do with, there’ll be a putt-putt course, basketball court and jungle gym. You did not misread that.

The musicians will all be performing during the day, but Zito said they don’t expect the fun to end when the plugs get pulled.

“There have been many people who have said that they may be looking most forward to hanging out & jamming to acoustic music around the campfires late night after the electric sets have ended, Zito said.

“While the bulk of the festivities will be going on during the day, I think people will be missing out on a really great time if they choose not to stay the night.”

And you can experience all of this inevitable calamity for only $11.34 (including the online service fee) in advance, or $15 at the gate if your pockets are a bit deeper. You can order your ticket online here.
