OK, here is an insane thing. The Rockstar Mayhem Festival, which has been going on for a few years now and is actually bringing a land-based version of its latest touring lineup to Jiffy Lube Live (formerly known as the Nissan Pavilion) in NoVa on July 29*, announced this week that its next big event will not be a tour but a cruise, which will setting sail from Miami on Friday, December 7th and spend four days and three nights at sea. The lineup is filled with metal heavy hitters and topped off by RVA metal legends Lamb Of God. Sooo… have you ever wanted to see Lamb Of God play on a cruise ship? Now you can!

There’s plenty of amazing stuff happening during this cruise, starting with full sets by Lamb Of God and the other headlining bands, which include Anthrax, Hatebreed, Machine Head, Suicide Silence, and Kingdom Of Sorrow. Those groups will be joined by a contingent of bands that would normally be playing on the second stage, including Gojira, Periphery, Born Of Osiris, Battlecross, Otherwise, Girl On Fire, Anti Mortem, and Gypsyhawk. In further proof that dubstep is taking over the entire world, there’ll also be nightly DJ sets from JDevil and DJ Starscream, aka Jonathan Davis of Korn and Sid from Slipknot. But that’s not all! You can also look forward to an art show curated by Clown of Slipknot, and Fangoria Magazine’s Video Nasties Film Festival. Plus there’ll be performances by neo-burlesque troupe Iron Fist Velvet Glove Carnal Review, comedian Big Jay Oakerson, and The Legions Of Skank featuring Luis J. Gomez and Dave Smith, That’s not to mention artist panels, meet & greets, a three-night poker tournament, and all kinds of other chaos!

Pretty nuts, right? The logistics of staging this entire thing on board a cruise ship are enough to break my brain when I even try to contemplate it, but for fans who have the necessary scratch to throw down and get tickets for this crazy event will certainly be able to say that they got their money’s worth. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, May 3, at noon Eastern Time, but you can get a jump on things by registering for an account today. So if you’re dying to check this whole thing out, head over to mayhemcruise.com, and tell them RVA Magazine sent you! And here’s a video trailer for the event to get you even more hyped:

*Motorhead! Slayer! Slipknot! Anthrax! High On Fire! I’m actually really excited about this date too, and tickets are on sale now. I’m just sayin.
