In case anyone is curious, 90’s hip-hop star Coolio makes a mean Caprese Salad and peach crumble. At least thats according to Reddit user lorcantc, who claims Coolio came to his house, cooked him and his friends dinner, and then lead a sing-along of the rappers smash hit “Gangsta’s Paradise.”

Coolio had performed in his town that night, and the group of lads met him at the post-show VIP event.

Here’s the video of a bunch of british kids, who were probably born 3 or 4 years before this song came out, killing it with Coolio.

Coolio’s life has been a bit of a roller coaster since the hay-days of gangster rap – he’s still releasing albums, most recently 2009’s From the Bottom 2 the Top, among many other’s. None of the albums have reached the success level of 1995’s Gangsta’s Paradise.

His success in the UK could stem from a number of reality show appearances, including Big Brother UK. State-side, most recently, he was featured on an episode of Wife Swap… opposite Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray. No we’re not joking, here’s the entire episode:

The irony of a Coolio Wife Swap episode get’s a little more complicated as the famed rapper was charged misdemeanor domestic battery this past summer. Coolio and his wife got in a fight over another women, a fist-a-cuffs occurred, and Ms. Coolio ended up with a bloody lip. Coolio tried to represent himself at his court date calling the charges “bogus”, and the judge gave him 30 days to find an actual lawyer.
