Hey folks, here’s the latest video from Atlanta garage punk band the Black Lips, which is taken from their sixth album, Arabia Mountain, released earlier this year on Vice Records. The video, a satirical take on New York in the bad old days of the 70s, depicts the band as corrupt cops on the take, riding around flirting with hookers and using excessive force to bust petty criminals. The overtly Ramones-ish sound of “Raw Meat” matches well with the video theme, though the over-the-top antics depicted here are a good bit more obviously humorous than anything the Ramones did, at least during the early part of their career. This video has another noteworthy aspect: it features artist and Richmond native Othelo Gervacio in a bit role as a purse snatcher. You can see him plying his trade at the 1:30 mark, and getting violently arrested a few seconds later.
