I know, I know, it’s the second Municipal Waste video I’ve posted in the past two weeks, but I promise you this is totally worth watching. The new Waste video, which is already the third from their recently-released fifth album, The Fatal Feast, features the hard-partying gore fiends transformed into actual cartoon characters. Created by Pierre Mousquet and Jerume Cauwe of IMOV Studios, this video follows through on an idea someone should have had a long time ago.
For one thing, with their comedically over-the-top self-portrayal through their lyrics, cover art, and miscellaneous graphics, Municipal Waste have always come off sort of like cartoon characters. For another, the freedom within the bounds of animation to do things completely impossible to even fake in real life opens the door for ridiculous amounts of carnage, a fact that they totally take advantage of in this video. Get ready for oceans of green barf and red blood, plus dismembered body parts flying everywhere in an only vaguely comprehensible mishmash of animated ridiculousness. It’s hilarious, it’s awesome, it’s over in 90 seconds, and it is absolutely a must-see, regardless of how many Waste videos I’ve already made you watch this month.
And of course, if you haven’t already, you should grab yourself a copy of the new Municipal Waste album as well–if you ask me, it’s their best work in years, and it’s been selling fast enough that the vinyl just went into a second pressing on green vinyl! Grab that from the Nuclear Blast online store –and get it quick, before they’re gone!
