All around RVA, the students are headed back to school. And in celebration, B.A.D.A.S.S. Raves and Cumulus are starting the weekend off right with the latest edition of Dub 101: Back To Bacon! I hear you asking–what does that mean? Well, the name is not a joke. We’re talking serious bacon overload here–free bacon and chocolate-covered bacon hors d’euvres will be available, and best of all, bacon flavored vodka will be on the liquor menu. Never fear, there’ll also be plenty of booming bass on tap to act as the soundtrack while you dance away those bacon-fat calories! New Jersey’s 19 year old producing wunderkind, AU5, will not be able to sample the bacon flavored vodka, but he will be laying down some heavy beats for your listening pleasure. His hybrid sound, mixing trance and dubstep, has gotten a lot of buzz, with high profile DJs like Excision giving him spins, so come check him out now before he blows up! Also on the bill are local EDM stars Mike Phear, Jmungz, and DJ Shugadadde, as well as young up-and-comers DJ Dook, DJ Pyrite, and Korin Complex. It’ll be a night of beats, bass, and bacon that you don’t want to miss, so come out to the Canal Club this Friday and get in on the first big party of the new school year!
