Here are two new tracks from local hip hop artists, guaranteed to start your weekend off right! And here’s Black Liquid to tell you about em:

Conrizzle – “PAWZZ$$” (Prod. By Conrizzle)

Consumer of cran grape and white girls, rocker of fresh kicks (except on stage–he always ends up shoeless on stage), and veteran producer and MC of G5 music group, Conrizzle, AKA Loochey Lovely, returns to rep his hometown of Goldsboro, North Carolina with the self produced “Pawzz$$” off his upcoming album, Eastern Wayne Alumni. Here the Rizzle man takes a rhyme structure reminiscent of colleague Nickelus F’s Sweet Petey self-described “Soup music,” combines it with a little Kendrick Lamar from Pusha T’s “Nosetalgia,” and sprinkles in the energy and wit we know him for over a piano and fast paced 808’s to talk his shit. This is something for the “turn ups” out there, and if that isn’t you, well, as Conrizzle will tell you on the end of this record over and over in true Goldsboro fashion, “them niggaz there don’t give a fuck,” and neither does he.

Matty Da Kidd & Christopher Lakes – “City On Lock” (Unknown Producer)

Matty Da Kidd & Christopher Lakes bring you “City On Lock”, a record about their awesomeness, lack of time for the ladies, and apparent upper echelon presence in the city. If you like Chief Keef, you’ll probably like this, as the record features that slow synth, 808-backed drill instrumental with the rapid then sing-song delivery and repetitive lyrics that Mr. Keef himself made so popular. I’m not really sure why they chose to put a voice mail from a girl 3 minutes deep into the song, but I’m guessing because he makes a point to mention how busy he is running things with his team and turning up. While indicative of talent and a good engineer, you’ll find nothing you haven’t heard here before, just as much as you’ll find that there’s more to love out there than just Sosa.
