Everyone in RVA has been buzzing about her for sometime, and in just a short while indie rock artist Lucy Dacus has blown up beyond the local music scene. Her musical chops and backing band caught the attention of the industry with nods from major news outlets such as NPR, Fader and even Rolling Stone for musical chops and break out single, “I Don’t Want to Be Funny Anymore.”
RVA Magazine had a chance to sit down with the singer in our last issue to discuss her song writing process, influences and her new album No Burden, which dropped at the end of last month via Egghunt Records.
You can check out RVA Mag’s review of her new album and give it a listen here.
So if you haven’t seen Lucy Dacus yet, or these other awesome bands, then head to The Broadberry this Fri. March 4. Doors at 8 pm, show at 9 pm. Tickets are $8 in advance and $!0 at the door.
