Matthew E. White To Tour With The Mountain Goats This Fall

So the Fight The Big Bull crew has really been hitting the big time recently. First Reggie Pace joins Bon Iver’s touring band, and now this–Matthew E. White, of Fight The Big Bull/Spacebomb Records/The Great White Jenkins/so much more, who wrote the horn arrangements for the upcoming Mountain Goats LP, Transcendental Youth, will also be joining the Mountain Goats on their US tour this fall.

So the Fight The Big Bull crew has really been hitting the big time recently. First Reggie Pace joins Bon Iver’s touring band, and now this–Matthew E. White, of Fight The Big Bull/Spacebomb Records/The Great White Jenkins/so much more, who wrote the horn arrangements for the upcoming Mountain Goats LP, Transcendental Youth, will also be joining the Mountain Goats on their US tour this fall. Kicking the whole thing off with a show right here in RVA at the National on October 9, White will go on to both perform as an opening act for the Mountain Goats and lend his horn section, the Spacebomb Horns, to the Mountain Goats for their headlining performances. The tour kicks off one week after the Mountain Goats release Transcendental Youth on Merge Records. White’s own LP, Big Inner, will be released by Spacebomb later this month, on August 21, so both groups will be touring behind new albums. With the combination of these two new albums and this two week tour, Matthew E. White and the Spacebomb Horns are set to take the sound of RVA’s fascinating and diverse underground music scene to venues across the country.
