Modest Mouse, the Portland-based indie rock band famous for songs like “Float On,” “The World at Large” and more, is coming to The National Theater on October 15 this year.
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 16 at 10am and are expected to sell fast.
The National notes Modest Mouse as “the indie rock gold standard,” crediting them as “one of the few bands capable of achieving massive popularity without sacrificing their longtime fans.” Their last show in Richmond in May 2014 sold out within hours of ticket sales opening and drew a passionate crowd of fans.
The band’s most recent album, Strangers to Ourselves, was released in 2015 and hit #3 on the US Billboard 200 charts. Its first single “Lampshades on Fire” dropped on December 15, 2014 and was #1 on the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
With eight members and more than 20 years under their belt, Modest Mouse songs have a wide range of instruments and sounds. Both singer Isaac Brock and drummer Jeremiah Green have been leading figures in the band since their 1996 album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About.
Tickets for the 2017 show in Richmond can be purchased online here Friday, 6/16, at 10 AM, or in-person at the venue. Pre-show tickets cost $38.00 and day-of tickets will cost $43.00.
