It’s been a bit since we last caught up with RVA’s Sleepwalkers and we’re pumped to see them take the Broadberry stage tonight. The brothers York (Austin and Michael) had just gotten back from a nation-wide tour and they’ve spent the last few months huddled up in White Star Studios making progress on their second full length release and this weekend will be the public’s first chance to hear some of that work.
“It’s going to be a rock’n party, it should be a lot of fun,” said Austin in a quick phone interview. “We’re planning to play most of the new record.”
Sleepwalkers made waves on their first release, Greenwood Shade, when it dropped back in 2014. But if what we heard late last year is any sign of things to come, the wait will be worth it.
As for Saturday, Mike promised the audience could end up comparing the experience to “J-Lo singing desert rock songs while having tantric sex.”
“We’ve been working on figuring out how this stuff sounds live,” he said on a more serious note. “Especially in Richmond cause its been so long since we’ve played here, It’ll be fun to get back on stage.”
Check out a teaser video for a new song below with visuals by Austin.
It’s been almost a year since the Sleepwalkers have graced an RVA stage so head down to the Broadberry tomorrow night and check that shit out – you can snag tickets here. They’ll be joined by local favorites Camp Howard so it should be quite the gig.
