Young Rell – Letter 2 God
Share
Local emcee Young Rell brings us with him as he has a heart to heart with the man above in the single, “Letter 2 God.” The first time I heard him perform this song, he captured my attention with his delivery and the pain I felt in his lyrics, and the video does just as much visually. His a talk with God in this video has some amazing visual effects, thanks to Aura HD and Imagery. As he expresses his faults and repents, a lot of perilous events happen around him–for example, as he tells God about how he feels unsafe from what he calls “Jack Boys,” some try to run up on him. But God stops them with the wave of his hand. Overall this video is lyrically amazing and visually outstanding. Aura HD and Imagery is taking over RVA.

Suburban District – Hands Up
If you ever want to see what a party is like, you need to watch this new video from local hip hop trio Suburban District. It includes footage from when these guys opened for Flo RIda in front of 10,000 people at the University Of Richmond. The mascots and crazy partying throughout the video show that Suburban District can definitely make their presence known throughout RVA. The video was directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Bryce Spivey, who is also a Senior Videographer/Editor at VSU. With the crazy visuals and non-stop antics, this video is definitely eye candy.

Young Neez – In My Own Timezone
Local Emcee Young Neez tells us how it is in his newest video, “In My Own Timezone.” This song definitely captures the graphic edge of RVA, and brings us lyrics and visuals of the life and times of the streets. In this video he shows us what it is to go through his day to day realities. As he calls it, being “In My Own Timezone.” With almost 4,000 views on YouTube, he can definitely back up his words. You can find his mixtapes and albums at BK Music and DTLR locations around Richmond.
