A major announcement dropped this morning from Pasqualle Rotella and Insomniac Events, regarding their partnership with Pacha NYC to bring Electric Daisy Carnival, better known as EDC, to MetLife Stadium in New York. This is huge for a number of reasons. First, they made the announcement extra late for this event, which is scheduled to go down before EDC Vegas. The Vegas event has already been marketed for months, and tickets are already being sold for it. Also, with this announcement, Insomniac is directly attacking and competing in a market with Electric Zoo, Camp Bisco, Bass Island, and so much more in NYC. Not that I think those events will deter festival-goers, as EDC carries a reputation for top tier production and artists. However, for those of you like me who may not have the ability to get out to Vegas, EDC New York gives you the chance to experience the festival atmosphere which everyone talks about. The event is scheduled for May 19 & 20th, and no lineup has been announced. Tickets go on sale March 3rd.

Swedish House Mafia released a new banger this week too, called “Greyhound.” They dropped it on Pete Tong’s radio show in preparation for their two-day Masquerade Motel event for Miami Music Week, which is also taking place during, but not in conjunction with, Ultra Music Festival. SHM has some beef with the people behind UMF, and this is pretty much their way of saying fuck you. Should be an awesome and unique experience that I am looking forward to in South Beach.

This Week’s New Bangers:
Armin Van Buuren & Orjan Nilsen – Belter
Lucky Date – I Want You
Rusko – Somebody To Love [Skream Remix]
Martin Solveig – The Night Out [ A-Trak Remix]
Bingo Players – L’Amour

Must-Hear Stream:
Zeds Dead – MistaJam BBC Radio One Mix
