What’s good, RVA bass fans! Gearing up for the Paper Diamond and Polish Ambassador show at the Canal Club tonight. I’ve decided to hit this instead of the SOJA show I previously mentioned. Paper Diamond is part of the Pretty Lights Music crew and I will never pass up a chance at catching any the producers from that label, especially in my own backyard. Can’t wait for him to drop that “Same Old Song” remix for us. I’ve been on a bender trying to get an interview with him for you guys, so we will see if it all works out tonight. Catch me raging in a fluorescent orange shirt and some green specs; I solemnly swear to get five different kinds of mental for this.

It was an overwhelming week of music, particularly Monday and Tuesday. I’ve been using the Madeon BBC Radio One Stream, which is 30 minutes of pure bliss, to get me through my trials and tribulations. This kid is 17 but looks like he is 12, and may very well be the second coming of Daft Punk. He just has that soulful but aggressive electro funk like Daft does. Really though, check this out and let’s connect and talk about YOUR opinion.

Until we posted the new Super Mash Bros. track I honestly had no idea they had such a following. Well, they didn’t fall off the face of the earth after all–just took an entire year off instead. Finally on the radar again, they dropped a mashup EP called MILEy High Club. We featured the single “Holy Guacamole!” which is a bangin mix of pop and hip hop. I’m not usually a huge fan of complicated or sample-ridden mashups, but these three have it down to a science. Kreayshawn and Ludacris make for a sure party pleaser.
