Pretty interesting week for you wobble heads out there. As promised, the Skrillex remix of “Levels” by Avicii finally hit the web, and went bigtime viral. It will eventually be released on the Levels Remixes EP by Avicii, along with the Cazzette mix.

The most exciting and ground breaking feature this week had to be the Pretty Lights interview on USA Today. This is just another testament to the growing popularity of electronic music in American culture. The Colorado-based electro/soul/hip-hop producer, also known as Derek Vincent Smith, basically hit the nail on the head with some of his descriptions in the interview. He charactherized the sound as “mind-bendingly dope.” “Music that touches your soul, but also evokes the desire to rage.” Viewers got a chance to experience Smith’s personality as well, as he dropped lighthearted comments throughout. Though, of all things, make sure not to miss his dance moves. He brings a swag to the live set unlike any other artist.

As for big news regarding fresh sounds, Steve Aoki’s highly anticipated album Wonderland leaked, and is now available. EDM fans nationwide have been fiending for this one, and I’d say Aoki gave them what they wanted. A little more pop than we are used to, but that’s OK, because the production quality is still super tasty.

This weeks 5 Must Hear tracks:

Love and Light – That’s So Cali
Lady Gaga – Marry The Night (Afrojack remix)
Gramatik and Break Science – Boogie Down
Zed’s Dead – Ruckus The Jam
Skream and Benga – Ice Cream Jelly Roll

2 EPs I Would Download If I Were You:

Robotic Pirate Monkey – Colors In Disguise
Knife Party – 100% No Modern Talking

Not much Bass this week in Richmond. Maybe you house heads can hit up Mansion one night. Otherwise, it looks like it might just be a bar weekend, folks.
